“The beauty of taking that all-important first step off the ledge—you discover things you never would have seen when you were only standing there thinking about jumping,” said Anicia Bragg, contributor to “Love Like God: Embracing Unconditional Love.” And, as women, it is in those moments of bravery that we are able to make the most impact on the world.
The key to success is an ability to get moving and not let fear hold us back, said Anicia. “Fear is the foundation of complacency, strife, and struggle. The granddaddy of all fears is the fear of the unknown. What if this, and what about that? Fear of the unknown often leads to a lack of action.”
We have incredible power as women. “I’m in awe of the awesome power we have: the power to create life, the power to create change.” It is crucial for us to move forward and embrace that power. “Take chances. Jump in with both feet. Dive in without thinking, without analyzing, without checking the temperature, looking at the clock, or checking your schedule,” said Anicia. “Once you are in the water, you’ll figure it out.”
That first step opens up the possibilities of action because “you see the steps needed to get the job done.” The mind’s attention shifts to what is next, rather than getting caught in pre-action fears. “When you cast yourself out there, incredible opportunities come about. New ideas come out of nowhere, new connections and new people find you, and successes happen that fuel you to do more.”
A multi-talented entrepreneur, Anicia recently leaped through her own fears to try something she always has wanted to do, but never seemed able to start: write a book. After recognizing her fears about the unfamiliar territory, she “just jumped right into the water.” Once she did, she was so excited about the process that she began writing two books!
The first, “Set for Life,” is a memoir that reveals lessons Anicia learned while struggling to find happiness and inner peace. She said, “I hope my story helps other women develop their self-image, confidence, and sense of worth so they can create lives based on following the dreams in their hearts—fearlessly.”
Her second writing inspiration is a romance novel, “For Love or Money,” a narrative that takes the reader on a heartfelt journey, shaped not only by Anicia's boundless imagination, but her own personal life desires and love experiences. It is a story and a wish birthed into one labor of love. “The beauty of writing fiction is the ability to mold and shape a story and its outcomes any way the writer chooses. Instead of letting my fears or my past choices control me or hold me back, I’m using them to paint my perfect life moving forward, using the unlimited canvas available to writers, dreamers, and doers.”
It is that unlimited canvas and an unlimited spirit that define Anicia, who also is developing Gurls with Game to offer women information on healthy relationships, fashion and classic beauty, entertainment, home décor, and inspiring daily messages. Anicia also will have a Summer 2014 lifestyle column, "Hollywood Provocateur" in Viva Glam Magazine, in which she'll talk about women's self-empowerment, the art of entertaining, and relationship topics. We salute Anicia this Women’s History Month!
Living each day with the knowledge that a debilitating chronic migraine attack could occur any moment, Sarah Hackley crafted a way to navigate career, family, and self-care philosophies into a fulfilling life.
“Thankfully, there are many places we can go online for support with this issue, places where we can empathize with each other and find people who understand what we’re going through,” said Sarah. “This is essential to our mental well-being, and I am grateful every day that online communities exist. What there doesn’t seem to be enough of, however, are places where we can get and share practical advice for living with our illnesses.”
To support this need, Sarah has created a new blog to compliment "The Migraine Chronicles" called “Practically Chronic,” which focuses on providing and discussing practical tips for living with chronic illness and raising kids - an exceptionally good resource for work-at-home moms, moms with special needs kids, homeschooling moms, and even those without chronic illness.
Sarah also reaches out worldwide on a monthly basis to those suffering from and/or living with migraine through her monthly features with Migraine.com. March's feature was a remarkable success - viewed by over 28,000 people!
Through therapy and self-discovery, Sarah created, "Finding Happiness with Migraines: a Do It Yourself Guide," a min-e-book™ that intuitively guides migraineurs to take charge of their bodies, minds, emotions, and health.
As a contributor to the Absolute Love Publishing collaborative book, "Women Will Save the World,” Sarah shared her personal experience with loss. “The one thing I had never been prepared for happened, and there was no place to push the pain. All the corners of my mind, all the compartments of my soul, were full.” said Sarah. What she gleaned from these moments was not always what she expected to learn. A poetry chapbook, “The Things We Lose,” follows this theme of loss and is due to be released in the summer of 2014.
Sarah also keeps busy as the editor for Absolute Love Publishing and its imprint, Spirited Press.
Congratulations, Sarah, on always finding the light – and the love! We love you!
“Everyone uses the term, ‘Beauty from the inside out,’” said “Love Like God” and “Women Will Save the World” contributor Lorelei Shellist, “But few people ever tell you how to access that inner beauty.” Through her work as a counselor, speaker, and life coach, Lorelei affirms through daily works and self-love programs that beauty is within us all. She has made it her life's mission to help others find and radiate their inner beauty.
“My programs are designed to help re-connect with the parts inside ourselves that hold us back from radiating our beauty. We must learn to acknowledge those parts that we may have kept hidden for whatever reasons and embrace them, not reject them. In many cases, there is healing to be done on the unconscious level before we can allow ourselves to shine,” she said.
One of Lorelei's popular programs is "I Am Dreams with Wings,” which educates at-risk teens by teaching core life skills such as communication, job interview techniques, and self-empowerment. Through opening her own heart, Lorelei mentors teens to create their own positive life journey, attain their heart's true desire, and become conscious, responsible enlightened adults. Another well-received program is Freedom to Choose, which helps women in prison recognize their potential and redesign their external style to release their intrinsic inner beauty.
In addition, Lorelei is dedicating herself to encouraging the growth of inner beauty in a place starving for renewal - politics - as a campaign ambassador to her personal inspiration, Marianne Williamson. “The moment I heard Marianne was running for the U.S. House of Representatives in my own district here in L.A., I had a rush of energy and hope. Here was a woman who had personally inspired and counseled me 25 years ago when my own life was challenging and I was at a loss,” said Lorelei.
And, yes, there is even more for Lorelei! She is the bestselling author of "Runway RunAway: A Backstage Pass to Fashion, Romance and Rock ‘n Roll," an event host, a Fashion Icon Inner Beauty Expert™, and a BARE BEAUTY columnist in FIND BLISS Magazine.
We appreciate this luminous example of how one person's personal quest for inner beauty and understanding can offer opportunities to encourage positive change and hope for many.
Congratulations, Lorelei on shining a light through the long tunnel of self-discovery and possibilities! You rock!

Like a pebble tossed into water creating ripple after ripple, Kate Neligan makes beautiful waves. This “Women Will Save the World” trailblazing contributor is creating a better world through her vision of synergy. In her recent TEDx talk on “The Pursuit of Perfection,” Kate shared how as a society we have established a fertile ground for the perfection-driven people we are today.
“If I do this, I get this,” we think. But, when we don’t achieve the “perceived perfection,” we do not earn the reward and, thus, an “I am not enough” seed begins to grow. How can we overcome that feeling of not being enough and let go of the exhausting chase for perfection? Kate asks us to focus on three things:
Enjoy the climb. “So often we focus on the destination and where we are going because we think that is what we need and lose sight of the beauty around us.”
Live life in the sweet spot of enough-ness. “The paradox of desire is that we want something outside of ourselves, but that sends a signal that we are not already complete.”
Practice synergy. “Embrace all the parts of ourselves, including our shadow, so we work to heal our wounds and continue to express our light.”
Click to watch Kate’s entire enlightening presentation.
In addition to her TEDx appearance, Kate described a recent “full circle moment” when she saw the Dalai Lama speak in person, as it was a quote from the Dalai Lama that inspired the creation of the Absolute Love Publishing collaborative book, “Women Will Save The World,” for which Kate contributed a story on “Transformational Trailblazing.” Kate’s story centered on following her heart to create Mindful Media Entertainment LLC, a conscious media studio for mindful movies and transformational television, and Synergy TV, an online media channel that entertains, enlightens, and inspires.
Remember those beautiful waves?
Look for even more, as Kate showcases her Conscious Rockstar through coaching, speaking, and even equine therapy!
Congratulations, Kate on making the world a better place by tossing one conscious pebble at a time. To keep up with Kate’s journey and be inspired to create your own ripples, visit http://synergytvnetwork.com.
"During the Paralympic Games in Sochi, the men made history, but the women really shined,” said Fitzpatrick. One of her most inspirational interviews was with 18-year-old, first-time Paralympian Stephanie Jallen, who competes in alpine events such as the slalom with just one leg and one arm - a true example of what a woman's strength and determination can achieve. “This young woman is fearless and believes that all things are possible. She skied her way down black diamond slopes to the podium twice to take home bronze medals each time.”
Fitzpatrick also witnessed women creating peace one moment at a time as two female cross-country skiers - one Ukrainian and one Russian -- put aside their countries’ political differences to share the podium, along with a Swedish cross-country skier.
“Every single athlete at the Paralympics reflects the closing ceremony message that turns ‘Impossible’ to ‘I'm possible,’” said Fitzpatrick. “As women we must always embrace the belief that 'I'm Possible' when we start to feel defeated. All we have to do is look at the brave women at the Paralympic Games who embraced a belief in themselves to compete on an international stage.”
Each of Tonya's experiences with these women of the Sochi Olympics show the value of what self-love, perseverance, courage, and strength can bring to fruition. When you think you cannot do something, remember the determined women at the Paralympic Games who embraced a belief in themselves.
“As someone who has a passion for connecting people of different cultures and encouraging others to live their best lives, the Paralympic Games and the spirit of the athletes and humanity left an indelible impression on my heart," she said.
Fitzpatrick provides a strong voice through the World Footprints platform for living a socially responsible lifestyle that makes a positive imprint on our planet and shines a light on important global issues such as human rights advocacy, travel, and environmental and animal conservancy. She recently was honored with two awards in the Travel Broadcast category from the North American Travel Journalists Association:
In addition to contributing to “Love Like God,” Tonya is an attorney, author, co-host/co-founder of World Footprints radio, and co-author of “Success Simplified” with Stephen Covey.
Congratulations, Tonya on your unconditional love and dedication to making our world a better place, one footstep at time!

“Women Will Save the World” contributor Terry Grahl started her career as an interior decorator, creating beauty and spreading joy through design. While on that journey, a volunteer opportunity at a women's shelter led her to a path of greater glory, and a new dream was born: Enchanted Makeovers, a non-profit dedicated to transforming homeless shelters for women and children into inspiring, healing sanctuaries.
Terry followed her inner guiding light to close her private decorating business and dedicate herself full time to the growing endeavor. She worked collaboratively, locally and nationally, "transforming shelters for women from surviving to thriving," where children, teens, and adults could be healed, nurtured, and restored to recognizing their own worth and greater good.
Terry and her team of giving volunteers saw firsthand that changing the environment and attitude of a structure could shift the feelings and intentions of the people within it. Not just decorating; this approach birthed magic and displayed humanity at its best. The experience was life changing.
Before long, Terry was drawn to the needs of the youngest residents in the shelters. What else could be done to help the children feel nurtured and comforted and to show them how to draw on their inner strength? It had to be something imaginative that would take root and stay with them long after their stay at the shelter. The answer was an inspirational and love-fueled program - Capes For Kids. Throughout generations, children have believed in superheroes saving the day. Capes For Kids was the creative catalyst to teach children they could be empowered to save their own day.
The cape would not only be a symbol that encouraged the child's imagination to soar, but also a comfort, similar to wrapping up in your favorite blanket, cozy robe, or favorite shirt. Today, each cape is handmade with love and creative detail by contributors from all over the world. "With handmade items, all this positive energy and love is built into it," said Terry.
Capes For Kids embodies a wonderful cycle that starts with giving love and showing love - to becoming the love - for participants, contributors, and volunteers. Absolute Love Publishing and Capes For Kids are in alignment: Love truly can make the world go round.
Capes For Kids invests in a child's core well-being and nurtures the skills necessary to become a self-loving, strong, and creative person. With each cape is a built-in hope that it may provide a seed to grow an inner garden of greatness. Our wish: May every superhero child blossom into an adult that pays forward the love, kindness, and living skills the capes cultivate in them, and may our superhero Terry Grahl be blessed.
Terry Grahl and Capes For Kids are greatness personified. Terry's leap of faith, imagination, and connection with her inner child are changing lives exponentially every day. If you wish to learn more about Capes For Kids and how you can contribute, please visit www.enchantedmakeovers.org.
Most people hear “editor” and imagine one of two things: either a person who manages a magazine, literary journal, or publishing house or a person who checks a writer’s work for grammar issues. While both pictures are accurate, they represent only a narrow slice of a true editor’s work. In fact, there are many different kinds of editing, including developmental editing, content editing, line editing, and proofreading. Some editors focus exclusively on one form of editing, while others are skilled in all arenas and provide whatever editing services their clients or authors need.
If you are an author interested in publication, make sure you understand the different types of editing and how each can affect your manuscript. This knowledge enables you to compare editors and publishing houses accurately, which often leads to a better manuscript and more sales.
Here’s our editing cheat sheet, prepared just for you:
Proofreading. Proofreading is the simplest (and generally cheapest) type of editing you can get. A proofreader goes through your manuscript word by word, commenting on and/or revising basic grammar and spelling errors. Proofreaders do not comment on any other errors, which is why writers typically hire a proofreader only after a separate editor already has reviewed and revised their work (if proofreading was not included in their editing contracts). Proofreading generally runs less than $0.05/word (up to $2,250 for a standard 50K-word book).
Line Editing. Line editing is the second simplest type of editing, and generally carries a heftier price tag than proofreading (about $0.05 - $0.25/word, or $2,500 - $12,500 for a standard 50K-word book). However, this is an essential investment for an author who is serious about getting published, because agents and publishers generally won’t accept a book with structural issues. A line editor goes through your manuscript line by line, commenting on and/or revising sentence structure, syntactical problems, POV issues, factual errors, and plot holes. The line editor also spends a significant amount of time ensuring your dialogue sounds natural.
Substantive Editing. Substantive editing is in-depth editing that often involves the editor revising, adding, deleting, and rearranging entire pages and chapters. (Think of substantive editing as a kind of editing/ghostwriting hybrid.) While it is more expensive than line editing (often ranging between $0.30 and $0.75/word), it results in a substantially better manuscript. If you’re planning to successfully self-publish, substantive editing is probably the way to go. (Most publishing houses will have an in-house editor apply this level of care to your manuscript, though they generally won’t accept your manuscript for publication unless it already has been professionally edited to a high standard.)
Developmental Editing. If a substantive editor is a blend between an editor and a ghostwriter, a developmental editor is a blend between an editor and a writing coach. A developmental editor typically advises an author on early-draft issues, such as the creation of an outline or plot line and the conception of the idea itself. Issues brought to the author’s attention generally include believability of the premise, core intention and goals of the book, likeability of the characters, pacing, and writing style. (Pricing for developmental editing varies widely, but typically ranges between line editing and substantive editing.)
If you’d like to learn more about how editing works or you have a completed manuscript you’re ready to publish, contact our editor by emailing editor at absolutelovepublishing.com.
Do you have monthly, weekly, or even daily migraines? Do you feel lonely or isolated, or like you are constantly worrying about the next impending migraine? Is the weight of living with migraines dampening your enjoyment of the “now"?
Absolute Love Publishing author Sarah Hackley understands. She was in the depths of migraine darkness until she found her way through chronic migraine to a place of light – and happiness. Hackley, who was featured in another Absolute Love Publishing book, “Women Will Save the World,” wrote “Finding Happiness with Migraines: a Do It Yourself Guide” to “offer hope to sufferers of what can be a wholly disheartening disease.”
In this min-e-book™, Hackley shows you how to take charge of your body, your mind, your emotions, and your health by practicing simple, achievable steps to create a daily life filled with more joy, appreciation, and confidence.
“If you read about migraine, you hear the same things over and over again: figure out your triggers, avoid them, and take your medication. But, what do you do when those things don't work?” asked Hackley. “Many anecdotes and studies seem to imply there's nothing left to do at that point except give in to a life ruled by depression, constant pain, and ever-increasing migraine attacks. My own journey showed that there was another option, and I wanted to share that option with others.”
Hackley brings to the forefront several new thought philosophies, including the role of intuition, taking charge of your own therapy, why you should throw away your daily migraine journal, and even yoga poses to help with migraines.
“No one should feel helpless and hopeless, and I wanted to alleviate those feelings in my readers and offer a chance for peace,” said Hackley, who also points out that the tips in her book are helpful for those in the grips of any chronic illness.

Would you like to love your body at any weight? Would you like to filter through others’ body expectations to discover your own? Would you like to live at your ideal weight naturally, effortlessly, and happily?
Of course, you would! And, this is why we have published “The Weight Loss Shift: Be More, Weigh Less” by Michelle Hastie, a weight loss coach with a background in personal training, food psychology, neuro-linguistic programming, and yoga. (She was also one of our featured women in Women Will Save the World!) Michelle has been blessed with the gift of transforming lives, one body at a time, and we are so happy to help her reach a new audience with this book.
Based on science, psychology, and spirituality, “The Weight Loss Shift” helps you discover your ideal way of being and then helps you transform to living a life free from worry about weight – forever!
In other words: you will lose weight permanently and effortlessly. Not with diets or fad exercises or gimmicks -- but with love! Absolute love, yes?
“I want to live in a society where people truly have love for their bodies, no matter what shape or size,” said Hastie, “and in order to make this dream a reality, we have to start with the power of the truth. And, the truth is ... diets will never accomplish this.”
Michelle decided to write “The Weight Loss Shift” after seeing the struggles of her own weight loss coaching clients. “I was tired of watching dieters suffer and struggle in their bodies with traditional weight loss methods,” she said.
Her own experiences taught her it could be different – and better, easier. “Losing weight had been such a battle for me, and then, suddenly, it wasn’t. Deep down I knew I wasn’t special or unique in this way and that any dieter could shift from struggling to effortlessness.”

NaNoWriMo is half-way over. How the month is flying by! Hopefully, if you’re participating this year, you’re still excited about your subject matter, your words continue to flow at an astonishing rate, and you’re cruising steadily along toward your goal of having a completed first draft by the end of the month. If that’s the case, congratulations! You can stop reading this article right now, and go dash off another 3,000 words. If, however, (as is the case with the vast majority of each year’s participants) your enthusiasm has started to wane and/or your fingers are no longer flying across the keyboard quite like they were on Nov. 2, consider implementing one of these three tips to get back on track:
Tip #1. Turn off the Internet.
It’s been said time and time before and in a million different ways, but the oft repeated is often true. There’s no bigger time-suck than unfettered access to the Internet. If, try as you might, you just can’t stop yourself from checking for status updates on Facebook or browsing Pinterest or Reddit, consider using one of the many Internet-blocking tools out there. (Click here for some choices.) You could also turn off your wifi, disconnect your modem, or write on a machine that doesn’t have online access.
Tip #2. Stop editing.
Revising and editing are crucial, but not while you’re writing a first draft. In fact, bringing your inner critic into the mix too early is a sure-fire way to kill your creativity and relegate your book to the bottom drawer. To nix the misguided urge for perfection, resolve not to use the delete or backspace buttons for an entire writing session. It may feel strange and difficult at first, but after 20 minutes or so, you’ll likely be amazed at how fast the words fill the page.
Tip #3. Stop when you know where
Ernest Hemingway once said the most valuable piece of advice he had for writers was to “always stop when you are going good and when you know what will happen next.” Though it can feel almost painful to leave off in the middle of a scene or right before a plot climax, it really does build your enthusiasm and feed your writing. If you can do it, you’ll be amazed at how quickly and effortlessly you get down to work the next day.

While most authors know they have to query editors, agents, and publishers if they want to get their work out there, few seem to know how to do it successfully. Stand out from the crowd and get your manuscript noticed by ensuring your queries feature these five elements.
1. An effective hook. When our editor opens an author’s query, the first thing she looks for is the hook. What is your book about, and why should we care? An effective hook answers these questions clearly, concisely, and quickly. ALP Editor’s Tip: Your hook should be one of the first things an editor or agent sees upon opening your letter or email (after the salutation, of course). Don’t bury it at the end, after you’ve described yourself, your platform, and your intended audience. None of those things matter if you can’t hook your reader.
2. Personalization. This is the second thing we look for in evaluating an author’s query. Why are you sending your book to us? A successful query letter will show an agent or editor that you’ve researched the company and have a solid understanding of what they publish and why. ALP Editor’s Tip: The “why” is important. Most publishing houses have an underlying theme to what they publish. Make sure you know what it is and how your book fits in with it before you make your pitch.
3. Information about the book. This may seem self-evident, but you’d be amazed at how many queries we receive that don’t include a clear explanation of the book. If an editor or agent reads to the end of your query and still doesn’t know what your book is about or how you’re going to present it, then chances are good you won’t get a response. ALP Editor’s Tip: Queries should be brief, so you don’t have to send a full-page synopsis unless the company asks for one. You should, however, include the following information somewhere in your query: working title, number of pages, genre, and one-sentence summary. If you are querying a fiction piece, make sure your summary focuses on the plot.
4. Information about your market. Who is your intended audience? Why will they want to read your book? You don’t have to go into much detail here, but editors and agents want to know that you’ve put some thought into this. ALP Editor’s Tip: Bonus points are typically given for showing an understanding of the competition. Provide information about similar books currently on the market, and tell us why your book is better than what is already out there.
5. Author bio. Who are you? What makes you qualified to write this book? What is your reach? If you’re a nonfiction author, highlight your relevant credentials. If you’re a fiction author with 10,000 Facebook fans, 5,000 monthly views on your blog, or a sizeable email list, make sure you mention it in your query. ALP Editor’s Tip: If you haven’t been published before and you don’t have much to add to your bio, put extra effort into your market research and hook. If you can get the editor or agent significantly excited, it may not matter that you don’t have an established platform.
Do you have a positive message to share with the world? Absolute Love Publishing and Spirited Press are now accepting submissions for our 2014 catalogues. We’re looking for fiction and nonfiction books that intrigue us, inspire us, and fit with our overall mission. Genres may include mysteries; historical fiction; fantasy; humor; realistic fiction; science fiction; adventure; creative nonfiction; memoir; body, mind, and spirit; spiritual; inspirational; and women’s studies.
Authors interested in publishing with us should first familiarize themselves with our already-published books. (A complete list can be found here.) Then, submit a one-page synopsis that includes intended audience and expected word count, a brief author bio, and a general description of why the book is a good match for us.
Fiction authors also should send a 15-page excerpt from a completed manuscript. Nonfiction authors should include a complete outline and the first three chapters of the manuscript. All submissions should be emailed to editor at absolutelovepublishing.com in a Word document with standard formatting (i.e. Times New Roman, one-inch margins, and 12-point font).
Thank you for considering us. We look forward to reading your work!
One of Absolute Love Publishing’s perpetual bestsellers is our original min-e-book™, “Raise Your Vibration: Tips and Tools for a High-Frequency Life.” This information-packed gem has appeared on Amazon bestseller lists every day since its release – lists like Mental & Spiritual Healing, New Thought, and Energy Healing – often right next to (and even ahead of) blockbuster titles such as “The Secret” and “You Can Heal Your Life.”
In a quick-to-read format, “Raise Your Vibration” provides practical, usable information on how mind, body, and spiritual vibration impact our life experiences. (We often hear from people that they like to refer back to it over and over as they practice the lessons.) “Raise Your Vibration” also helped launch follow-ups in Raise Your Financial Vibration and Raise Your Verbal Vibration.
Have you read “Raise Your Vibration” yet? We’d like to share some of its “most highlighted” quotes from Amazon readers:
“Typically, classical-style music vibrates at the highest frequency, and listening to it helps clear our auras and chakras and mindset.”
“Moving faster does not raise your vibration; being slower does. When we are in a centered, peaceful, “available” state, the vibration of all we are transforms to high energy.”
“Create white light in your mind. Imagine it coming down from heaven and surrounding you. Continually picture it brighter and whiter. Feel it coursing through your body. Take time to savor the feelings and absorb it as real. Allow the lightness of this vibration to fill your being.”
“When we operate at a higher vibration, we have positive thoughts, and we attract positive people and activities. We also attract synchronicities, which allow us to go with the flow of the universe and guide us on our highest and greatest path. We are also able to enjoy clearer intuition, peace, and happiness.”
“Listening to your ego brings your vibrations down; listening to your higher self brings your vibrations up.”
And a couple more notes and highlights:
“Notice I use ‘kind’ rather than ‘nice.’ Being taught to be nice is how many of us were raised, but being kind comes from a deeper, more meaningful place. Nice can be simply polite, and can spring from a place of ego, whereas kindness springs from the heart. When our actions and thoughts toward others spring from the heart, we feel more loving toward others and ourselves and are vibrating at a substantially higher level.”
“When you have a thought that lowers your vibration, be it a worry, a criticism, a fear, or a desire to gossip, turn it over to God (or the universe, angels, etc.) so that you release it. The more often you do this, the less often these thoughts will begin to form in the first place. If/when you struggle with this, remind yourself that a positive thought and a negative thought cannot share the same space.”
“Anyone who trades a half hour of news or news commentary before bedtime for a half hour of meditating, prayer, or sending the world love will see a profound difference in her or his well-being within a month. And that’s a promise.”

Raise Your Vibration Radio:
"Earth Angel" by The Temptations
Communication with angels (and spirit guides) is great for raising our vibration! We are surrounded by angels, and conversations can be easy when we allow them.
Create a sacred space for yourself, and try reaching out to them from this space through meditation or prayer. You also can write a letter if that seems easier. Angels are always listening and will help if we reach out to them and simply ask!
What we experience in life are series of lessons we have created for ourselves, but our angels can help us speed them up or slow them down. Just be aware of how you phrase your questions or requests. Like the Universe, they can take our words literally!

"All I Have To Do Is Dream" by The Everly Brothers
It might be easy to write this song off as a whimsical fantasy, a groovy tune from a bygone era. But actually there is some useful advice hidden in these lyrics.
Our earthly beings don't always have the easiest time communicating with each other. Emotions can run high and interfere, or sometimes we have trouble finding the words to articulate how we feel or what we want to say. But there's a silver lining to all that! If we want to speak to someone - anyone - we can ask his or her higher self to visit us in a dream. Have you ever dreamed about an encounter with someone and woken up feeling more at peace and more rested than ever? If you've experienced this, on a very real level, the encounter did happen. Sorting these kinds of things out can be very good for raising our vibrations.
To learn more about communicating with other beings' higher selves, check out our newest min-e-bookTM "Where Is the Gift? Discovering the Blessing in Every Situation" which is also now available in a package with the Fall Issue of Law of Attraction Magazine.
Raise Your Vibration Radio:
"Thank You" by Alanis Morissette
Gratitude is one of the most powerful and positive emotions that we can feel. Gratitude has a very high vibration. Raise your vibration this beautiful Monday with a little self-induced gratitude of your own!
Music is a great way to raise your vibration because even if you are not actively listening, your subconscious self absorbs the vibrations emitted from the song, and that includes lyrics too! Alanis Morissette released this song on her fourth studio album, in 1998. Most of the lyrics are deeply spiritual and it almost seems the song was a little bit ahead of its time. She talks about forgiveness (a very high-vibrating feeling!) and "enjoying the moment for once." She also mentions not "equating death with stopping" which leans heavily towards thoughts of an afterlife.
We have an exercise for you: Listen to the song once. Then make a list of the things you are grateful for today. Play the song again, but instead of "India," "disillusionment," and "consequence," replace those words with items from your list -- unless of course you are grateful for those things as well. Then sing your heart out and share your gratitude with the Universe!
Finding Happiness with Migraines: a Do It Yourself Guide, a min-e-book™
By Sarah Hackley
Sarah’s Five Steps to Finding Happiness with Migraines provide an actionable path to a new, happier way of living with migraines. A few of the tools you’ll learn:
“What it comes down to, if you’re taking a long time to finish a book. It’s not because you don’t have the time or the inspiration. It’s because you’re afraid. You’ve got to get over being afraid.” – Caroline A. Shearer
Last Friday, ALP founder and bestselling author Caroline A. Shearer and ALP editor Sarah Hackley joined Sharyn Abbott and Dave Daley on their blogtalk radio show "Secrets of Getting Published Now." Caroline was inspiring as usual, as she explained how ALP's assisted self-publishing imprint, Spirited Press, operates. "Everyone has their own little place [in the process of self-publishing] where they might get stuck. It's all different for everybody. But the more we can learn and the more we can share with each other, the easier it is for us to get beyond those little blips that hold us back. Then we can move forward and do what we want to do."
Sarah described the feeling of authors who find themselves "stuck" early on. "Maybe they knew how to begin, but they got mired in the details, or their enthusiasm has waned. That's the point when coaching services can be of help."
Caroline and Sarah also discussed:
- Benefits of assisted self-publishing every author should consider,
- How authors can maximize their income,
- Why entrepreneurs should publish a book, and
- The #1 thing new authors need to know!
